The annual Bouquets to Art exhibition at San Francisco's de Young museum is one of the most prestigious floral events in the United States. In 2008, it featured nearly 150 floral arrangements by prominent Bay Area designers, to interpret and complement the museum's collection of art.
Waterlily Pond selected the Venus sculpture by Boris Lovet-Lorski – a stylized representation of a classical theme. Our interpretation aims to capture the energy and gesture of the figure. A combination of highly polished, manufactured materials and sensual natural flowers echoes the streamlined form and the mysterious, somewhat androgynous subject. |
